  1. It's cool, whenever I hear of a group change, I instantly get excited due to a change of people. Not that I hated the previous people, but that it spices things up. I made lots of progress, except RIGHT after lunch. Right after lunch, I broke down and forgot EVERYTHING I learned. A steward was attempting to help me, but I literally could not focus for 5 minutes due to food processing (hehe). But afterwards, everything was fine!

  2. I was partner-less for the majority of the morning, which caused me to rely on the TA/stewards for any help or insight. After lunch, I did not need as much help from the TA/stewards because I did have a partner with whom I was able to communicate effectively. Working with a partner allowed me to complete the given tasks more quickly and efficiently. Also, having to sit in the same spot all day makes me a little bit antsy, so I think switching seats is a good thing.

  3. The change in groups and locations didn't really affect me much. Working with the stewards was very helpful. I understood more when working with the steward. I knew what I was doing and why I was doing what I was doing. Also going over stuff that I didn't understand much was very helpful.

  5. I must admit I don't work in groups often, but when I do I think it can actually be beneficial. I've enjoyed working in many different groups because when I interact with different people I get to know them a lot more. I feel that progress can actually increase in most cases of group efforts because the people in the group combine their ideas and speed up the process. I also like when we come up with ideas to improve our projects and work on those together. The stewards give us interesting challenges to work on, too.

  6. At first working alone was difficult, but with the Ta's help i was able to manage. When I started working with my partner, we were able to explain things to each other and get things done faster. It is nice that the stewards are constantly there to help, but working with a partner is the best.

  7. My workflow has changed for the better, by going faster

I would like to optimize my workflow even moreso.

  8. 1. I now use the terminal much more, including editing my code in the terminal
    2. I would like to use alt-tab more to avoid using the mouse

  9. A lot changed after lunch since I was used to working with my previous partner who worked at a similar pace as me. However, after lunch, I found myself get confused all over again and needed to relearn the basics in order to understand the new problem. But, thankfully the stewards/TA/Sam helped. Otherwise, I enjoy changing partners since it allows us to meet and work with different people.

  10. More folders work well
    For my organization
    Workflow optimized.

    I would like to have
    More backups of older code
    In case something breaks.

  11. 1. File/folder structure is cleaner now, but that's only because it's necessary for the program to work (static/templates folders).
    2. My process has been to mess around with the material (html and css today) until I can figure it out.

  12. Workflow has really not been a problem for me... although I would like to get better at using specific keyboard shortcuts.

  13. After Lunch, I started to take good notes with Chloe. I was able th catch up both in code and notes by the end of the day. I also made progress making my self via code. I learned the fundamentals of coding. :)

  15. The changes in groups are nice for me, it gives me a chance to understand things that I didn't before as well as further my understanding in things I already did. I made some more progress and got to begin things that I didn't have the chance to do before. I have the same partner, which I think is also good because we can discuss about what we didn't understand before still and learn it together.
Overall, I think that the change was good.

  16. i rate my understanding of this content that we learned today a 6, because i missed some of it, but i mostly know the rest.

  17. Shifting to another partner after lunch did not have much of a big impact on me today. I can say that both of my partners for the day were really great and they both support working together to complete a given task. After lunch however, I feel like I am just dreary when I return from the cafeteria and I need some time to recapitulate. All in all though, I feel like I am making progress and with help from the stewards, I am able to finish the projects. In a nutshell, everything is ay-OK!

  19. My workflow has gotten more efficient because I cleaned up my folders and files.
Tomorrow I will focus on making my code look nicer so Stanley and my partner will be happy. I will also ask my partner more questions.

    B) Not at all -- Type faster? I already type fast as is, but being faster couldnt hurt

  26. I felt less inferior lmaoooo. When I worked with Adam, he'd finish his part in less than 30 seconds. However, a partner change doesn't really affect me generally. Everyone is around my level for the most part, but Adam got me shook lol. He's mad good lol. Having a partner who isn't superior to such an extent makes me feel less of a burden lmaoo.

  27. The changes in the room didn't really affect me too much. I think working in groups were beneficial because it allows you to get help from your partner and learn new things from each other. Working with the stewards is also helpful when your lost. They also help you understand the topic a lot better.

  28. 1. My workflow should be improved, but currently my code and files are a mess. I probably would have kept them organized, but I was rushing and allowed myself to work messily.
2.I would like to take all my current code i am using, organize it and get a nice file structure going to keep it in an organized fashion. And also stop using bad habits such as just dumping files in the download folder

  29. I'd rate my understanding at a 6, because everything is so oddly specific that I doubt I'll have everything perfectly understood by tomorrow.

  30. i rate myself with a 5 because i was able to understand some of the concepts but not all of them

Marget thank you for your help you were so nice explaining and made me understand in a really good way :)

  31. I finally have a grasp on functions and how to make them. Booleans seem needlessly complicated though.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I am gradually starting to understand the material more. After a one on one most of my confusions are cleared up.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would rate today's material to be a #7 understanding. The lesson on how function works and then get an output is very simple and clear, but might be confusing if I do the same type of output for multiple objects. I can do the old ways of having to type out output for every object on the screen, but I know there is a quicker way to do it once for the whole ArrayList, but yet know how to do it.
    2. There were too many TA that helped me( at least 3), so I guess thanks to all of them regardless if you did help out or not.
PS Some of you need to wear your tags or I'll just call you TAs instead of names.

I feel like I know some of the material but I wouldn't be able to explain this to anyone. I feel like a learned a lot but I don't think I can explain anything I learned.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I would give myself a 7 or 8. In the morning, I was a little bit confused with the arrays and trail of circles, but I was able to understand them a little bit later. But after lunch, I found the return statements fun and a lot easier to understand than some of the other things we have learned.

  36. 1) solid 8. I understood all the material, I could definitely explain it to other people and those younger than me, but 5 years might be stretching it. And I've already forgotten some of what we did today, though I definitely understood it.
    2) aside from some mention of elastic collision with Aidan, and Chris pointing out why my ArrayList wasn't working, I mostly worked alone.

  37. The change of groups was an improvement in my case because my new partner is really nice and we can work together to make our work even better. Also i made a lot of progress because before i was working alone but know that i have a partner we share ideas about the project to help each other. So in my opinion the group change was a good decision.

  38. The location didn't affect me as much since I was basically doing the same thing in a new area of the room. I was a bit confused on why we actually changed groups since we were working with our previous partner on the chain reaction game. I think the same amount of progress was made after this change.
