How do you feel about your project's progress so far compared to the original design?
How do you feel about your own progress in learning new things while working on this project?
Engine Room:
Describe how you plan to utilize today's demo feedback to improve your project.
The project is definitely progressing. It actually looks like a Mario game but just needs a few twerks and levels. I am learning a lot while doing this project since I am putting concepts together.
It's completely different from how it was thought out to be, and I think our original idea was too ambitious. I have learned how to code ridiculously large programs in comparison to what I have usually programmed.
Lots more problem arose than we expected, so we won't have as fleshed out a program as we might have hoped, but it's still alright. As for my own learning, I still feel like I'm learning a lot and have made progress.
Our progress is living up to the original design. Our original design has kind of a lot of features that we are adding/have added to our current project. I feel more comfortable with using the reference/ internet to learn how to do new things. I also think I am better at debugging.
It's not gone in the exact direction I had expected it to go, but I kinda really like the way it did go. We've completed the minimum amount of stuff that we wanted to put in, and are now working on cosmetic/little things.
I feel like the project has moved along well. We have way more functions working then we did orignally such as power ups , lives ,screens, scores, and almost levels.
As far as learning new things I don't feel like I'm learning as much but I'm comprehending things more to the point where I'm able to explain to someone else.
Elements of the project are really settling into place. We have completed the main functions of the project and are now making small changes to make our project better. I learned a lot of new things while doing this project.
I feel that my group's project has changed a lot since the original design. At first, the project seemed a bit ambitious, since it would've involved using real-life statistics and evaluating predictions based on those. But I think our project now is a lot better, since it uses a general model instead of a specific one. I've also learned a lot about different styles of coding and different features that exist in Processing.
How do you feel about your project's progress so far compared to the original design? we removed the bedroom and i believe that change was for the better and we also made the kitchen really hard to finish witch is also good.
How do you feel about your own progress in learning new things while working on this project?
i understand Java a lot more and i am more confident in Java.
We are going to implement HTML formatting into our post/comment system hopefully in a way that we can easily drop in images, soundcloud and other html formatted things in these posts and such. It should really expand our ability to do cool stuff with the website and allow people to really "share" content and not just have it be a boring chatroom
My team plans on using the demo feedback to make a more robust site, and also a site that includes a more easy to read interface (Messing around with dividers and color schemes should fix that) as well as interface that requires no prior introduction to use.
We're going to implement changes that we have noted from the presentation. These include background color changes, as well as more method ideas. We will implement the changes by first running them through the group, deciding how to implement said features, and then dividing the work amongst ourselves. Then, the changes will be implemented.
My group's project is going really well. We only have a few additions and changes to make. I've had a lot of fun working with my group, too. I've learned a lot of new skills while working on our game.
We seem a bit behind in finishing the project. I do, however, see some progress. We have lesser members in our group and thus get work done not as swiftly as the other groups, but it is still manageable. We may or may not finish, but I hope for the best.
I'm learning a lot new stuff! I love working alone instead because if I ever get tired, I'm allowed to stare into space and daydream without a partner smacking my face awake! I just love being isolated because I seem to improve the best that way. With a larger audience, I may or may not understand what is being taught as much, because the focus of the teacher is not directly on me. Therefore, that allows me to slack and miss out of some important stuff.
We did not get any feedback from today's demo, but we know that we had to work on the story and the functionality of the buttons to make our game interactive and interesting.
I feel like my project has made a lot of progress because we are nearing finishing the basics of the game and are now trying to add some design and graphics.
I didn't learn new stuff, since I learned them during the previous lessons. However, it reinforced my skill and also improved the techniques. I feel more confident in using class and arraylist now. I also improved in debugging and organizing the code to make the game run smoother.
In term of progression, the project is nearly done. It's a matter of tweaking the settings, finishing up the menu, adding sounds, and add graphics. It should be done by tomorrow. We also plan to make it a 2-player game if we have addition time.
I feel like our project right now is just an improved version of our first idea. We know what is important to have and what we can leave out, so the game is running pretty smoothly. We are also having a lot of fun working together and help each other when we have problems. And I also think i have learned a lot.
1. there are a bunch of problems we didn't count on, but overall, we're doing fine, and only have a little bit more to do. 2.I am learning a bunch of new ways to make the same mistakes, but luckily, also ways to fix them.
We plan to address The issue with white spaces After the marquees.
This was an issue we had been aware of, but we hadn't realized that other people would notice it until someone brought it up in the discussion. We are definitely going to address it, but more important is trying to make the program work with firefox on unbuntu.
In respect to the design on paper, I'm disappointed that the game we're currently working with is nothing like my original design. Ah well. That's what spare time is for, I guess.
Our game is pretty hard-codey, so my understanding hasn't evolved much.

ReplyDeletei feel good we did a little bit of changes but we doing really good, i feel that i have learn more about how to work with my team.,
ReplyDeleteWe are making progress, and have been able to learn and figure out new ways to solve problems that we encounter
ReplyDeleteour project is almost done, and i learned a few things like how to put an image as a background.

ReplyDeleteIt is nearing completion.

ReplyDeleteSo far I feel like our project is already our original design, but we are now adding extra components to it.
ReplyDeleteAs for my own progress I feel like I am learning how to do more things.
Make the user experience more enjoyable by adding a manual and making it more visually appealing

There was not much feedback that could be used, but the app could be changed so that the instructions and other website elements are clearer.
ReplyDeleteThe project is great and I have learned a lot of things

ReplyDeleteWe need to make our project more aesthetically pleasing. Fix buttons, confusing text, implement story and manual... etc
ReplyDeletewe're golden boys.
ReplyDeleteOur project is almost complete. Today I was able to figure out how to put an image as a background.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to implement more features to make the program more interesting and improve its visual appearance.

1. I plan to use it. Connect it it to the flask app so they can see it.

ReplyDeleteLearned a lot today
ReplyDeleteabout how we need more things
and how to add them
Pretty much the only feedback that we received was that we need to connect the html and css files to flask so the website functions correctly.

I was a little bit scared because the game didn't look as cool as now but now, now it is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI plan to add a more user friendly website that includes more information about the game and some walkthroughs/ tutorials

The project is coming along fine buy we might need to make a few changes to the design.
