  1. My group was a little bit disorganized at first but now is getting a better shape. The coolest thing that we did today is the part were we shared all the ideas that we had and merge them into one.

  2. The project is going very well. Mapping it out helps because we know what to do step by step and get the project flowing smoothly. we are all doing something small and putting it together to make something big.

  3. I feel very confident that I know what I'm coding after the morning activity, and mapping the project gave me an idea on what to do when I actually start programming the game.

  4. Since my project is kind of convoluted and potentially has a lot of pieces, mapping it out was essential to moving on to the coding portion. I am still not entirely sure of how to code my project, however. I'll have to think about it some more.

  5. I feel like we have a great game!

  6. In the morning, I did not feel so confident in the morning about it. It seemed overly complicated and seemingly something that was impossible to accomplish, or even get close to accomplishing. After coding a bit, I'm starting to realize that maybe we can do this!

It didn't really affect us to create an outline/map of what we were going to do beforehand, I think we would have done the same thing if we didn't make an outline first.

  7. I feel better about my project after the design activity. Our plan appears to be better. Additionally With the new details added the plans are now set .

  8. I feel good after planning and designing because it made us to put all of our ideas together.

  9. We are now all on the same page as to what this project is going to be, and what we want it to look like. However we are still having difficulty dividing up the work in a way that makes sense, and actually getting the coding started. It's a bit more tricky than I expected.

  10. Our plan was more organized and it allowed us to split up into pairs.

  11. After designing, It was clearer what we needed to do for the game. Mapping also helped with which parts of the project we need to focus on.

  12. After doing the morning design, I felt pretty good about the group project. I think mapping it out was helpful because I could clearly see all the tasks I had to accomplish while doing my part of the program. Overall, it just cleared up my confusion and made everything a lot more organized.

  13. At first I was unsure about whether or not my group was going to be able to make our population simulator project. However, after we mapped it out and presented it to the class, I felt more confident that it could be done.

I think mapping out the project is a crucial step toward making such a project, as opposed to jumping right into the coding aspect and not being sure what we want in our project. It helps to give ideas and to break up the process into individual steps.

  14. After the morning design activity, I felt better about my project. My group had a much clearer vision on how we want our project to work and how we will code it. Using Dropbox was a little difficult and we had a lot of problems with it at first. Overall though, I like my group and am excited for our project.

  15. I feel good about my project after the design activity because it is more clear what we have to create.
Mapping out the project made it easier because I already have in mind what I need to focus on.

  16. I feel good about our project after the design activity and liked how we were able to get feedback on our ideas,it allowed us to tweak some things to make them better.

After mapping out what we were going to do it was quicker for us to actually start laying down some bases and writing code.

  17. 1.we are progressing well
2.by mapping it out we know exactly what we need to do to finish

    ReplyDelete
  18. After the morning activity, we are able to come to an agreement of what exactly the project should be about. We have an idea of the different classes we have to make. We should be able to eventually divide the work amongst ourselves

  19. Today I worked on practice problems with Stanly, I also mapped out some of the code I had on paper then I put it in the code that I have on the screen.

  20. 1. when we mapped it out, i realized our project was more complicated than we thought.
    2. Mapping out the project helps us figure out what work needs to be done, and in what order.

  21. I think the morning activity was really helpful since it enabled us to breakdown our game into the very simple components. We listed out the basics of what we needed and what codes we were going to write. Instead of starting out with a bunch of large ideas, we started with the small steps that we had made up when we were mapping everything out.

  22. After the morning design activity, I felt better about the fact that the project was doable since we had a plan.
Mapping it out and deciding what our priorities were first helped us out a lot, since we were able to set out a plan on how we wanted to get the project done. And because we had our priorities set straight, we were able to get things done quicker so that everything else would run more smoothly.

  23. My biggest programming feat was breaking my program through the deletion of a single space, which was not supposed to be there in the first place. This problem was left unsolved after many minutes. Planning has gone well, but when creating group ideas, only one person had a focused plan, so there was a severe drought of ideas.

  24. My creative soundness is piqued. I am extremely eager to start tinkering with more nuanced mechanics like giving it a smoother turn or making it more flashy. Drawing it's gonna be a pain though.

Through collaboration, I've learned that prioritizing graphics over functionality is like opting to be more fashionable than functional, and I've revised my working schematic accordingly :)

  25. After the design activity, the group is heading in the right direction. Members finally communicate a bit better. Some are still disappointed because the majority voted to do something else. Morale is like a sloth sliding the body across the forest, but at least it's moving somewhere, some place. I feel like some of us is trying to get it over, not get it done.

Mapping allowed us to divide the work so we got some of the important things done. It also gives us an overview of what we have to do and prioritize certain work over the other.

  26. I embedded XKCD in our website today. It was pretty fun to do.

  27. 1) I felt like the project was even more difficult than I first thought after planning it out.
    2) Mapping out the project made it more organized and gave everyone something to do.

  28. When I was working with my partner today we were stuck on an error message and after and mixture of panic and staring, we finally found what was breaking our code and we fixed it.

  29. 1. After working on my project this morning, I am much more confident that I have an idea of what our game is going to look like, however I feel as though some of the features we plan on adding to the game will require experience we don't have.

    2. Carefully mapping out the project makes it a lot easier to envision what we'll be doing later on as opposed to just blindly writing code.

  30. I feel like we have a solid idea of what our program will require and how it will work now that we planned it out.

Mapping out our project made it easier to design and know what order to do things.

  31. The coolest feat of coding was creating a website utilizing various resources and APIs. I think our project will be a success.

  32. We predicted who
    Would win the next primaries
    Using API.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I managed to get a user to input a search query and get a related image back.
Also, APIs are a pain because they are inconsistent

    ReplyDelete
  34. Being able to finish all the flask and computing needed to make our API run. I am happy of my group's achievement as I was not able to do something which they were able to do. I am also happy about our work distribution as we split the work into flask( which I did) and API which my partner did. Overall, it was a good day

    ReplyDelete
  35. it was fun to use API's to get info.

  36. The coolest feat of coding/designing I pulled off today was being able to plan out a program using multiple functions that would allow the user to choose an existing galaxy and generate the amount of years it would take for a person to travel to that galaxy in the world's fastest spaceship.

  37. 1. Being able to see semi live data from the ISS (space station) was pretty cool, even though the program implementation was broken, it is still really cool to think that with a bit of programming knowledge anyone can access all of this data on various subjects.
I've defintley found myself starting to think more towards interface and user experience as a I go along, and am trying to think of a path for things that will not result in a buggy, confusing mess of code which was one of the problems I experienced before, especially having to pick through other people's spaghetti code with like no spacing or comments, even if it is good code, it can be a problem when debugging.

  38. We had new ideas.

    Most weren't any good.
